Thick rubber circles etched into asphalt are all that remain of what will go down in Daytona Bike Week history as one of the rowdiest events to ever kickoff a rally.
The passion project of Giselle Levy (of The Iron Lilies), Jordan Priebe (of Performance HD) and Brandon Nogues (of Lowlife Speedworks), the inaugural Hot Bike Southeast FXR/Dyna Day was the first of its kind for Daytona Bike Week. Title sponsored by Orlando Harley-Davidson, this Hot Bike Magazine event found a perfect setting in downtown Orlando’s newly established Ace Café, a mecca for those enthusiastic about the history of all things in gasoline culture. The metropolitan location provided a great backdrop for the crowd of enthusiasts itching to see something new during this historic week in moto culture.
While a conglomeration of Harley and metric stunt riders tore up the back lot of Ace Café Orlando, builders from all over the country showcased FXRs, Dynas and Performance builds ranging from the pristine, stock condition, to the chopped, painted and totally reimagined.
The class of Best OG FXR went to “Spook” with a pristine FXRP.
Best FXR went to rising builder Kyle Rice with his beautiful shovelhead FXR.
Pop’s Garage Fab took home Best Dyna followed by the Spadafora Choppers crew premiering and taking home the win for Best Performance with their “Performance Whitemare” Road Glide build.
The event, intended to rejuvenate the Bike Week culture, channeled some of the west coast moto-trends. The various vendors and sponsors present at the event represented a nice balance of east and west coast.
Those who attended bore witness to a host of Harley-stunts courtesy of the boys of East Coastin’, The Ives Brothers, Joey (of Bassani Xhaust’s Stunt Team), Orlando Alliance and Lowlife Speedworks.
The event is due to continue for 2019 and its producers promise an experience that will top even this year’s blowout.
Huge thanks to Giselle Levy for providing us with the coverage on the Southeast FXR/Dyna Day and PRICRI PRODUCTIONS for the photos!
